Synopsis
TRANSFORMING TOWARDS SUSTAINABLE SMART AGRICULTURE
By 2050, the World population is increasing to 10 billion and we need to produce 70 percent more food to prevent world hunger. Unfortunately the agriculture industry faced very pressing challenges including climate change, low technologies used and rapid urbanization to be able to keep up with the demand. If we do not undergo change by 2050, these macro trends will lead to food scarcity problems worldwide. Hence the agriculture industry needs to catch up with the evolving world. So what does the future hold for agriculture? The short answer to this is to venture into Agriculture 4.0 or sustainable smart agriculture with the injection of science and technology to provide solutions to food security.
